I Remember…Blog #11
Word Count: 281

I remember when I was about nine years of age. I went to my grandma’s house for the fourth of July. They live on a lake and we have a Rinker 14ft. speed boat, we love to go out and ski, tube, and wakeboard even though my uncle and I are the only ones who can, wakeboard. On this specific Fourth of July, it was extremely hot. So my family and I decided to take out our boat and go tube. We went around the lake a few times in the tubes until I got board and wanted to ski. I thought it would be fun and challenging because the lake was extremely busy, even for a holiday. So my dad agreed to my request and I started skiing. On my first lap around the lake I made it around fine. But on the second lap, almost every boat seemed to be in the main channel. And on the holiday people don’t think and are drinking so my dad had to make an evasive maneuver to try and keep me out of harms way. This did not work because I soared over numerous huge waves and crashed down into the water. As I went into the water both skis flew off my feet and on their way up, one managed to launch itself into my face. Splitting it open for all to see, this resulted in me coming out of the water holding my bloody face and making my parents think my eye was torn out of my face. Luckily that wasn’t the case and I only needed five stitches and not a fake eye.
